Get your weekend coffee fix at the recently opened Damson Cafe. Along with an excellent flat white, there is a daily changing menu including raspberry muffins, cheese scones and healthy salads and sandwiches (64 St. Giles High St., WC2H; 020 3609 0901).

We plan to prepare for the Jubilee celebrations with a hearty pie. Timmy's Pies - the local pie specialists have created a limited edition snack (£4.95) available at Harvey Nichols for four weeks only. The Royal Pie contains mixed Berkshire game, apricots and spiced free-range pork in a pheasant stock and cider jelly. And for added pomp, it's decorated with edible gold and purple lustre. Fit for a Queen.
