Some news from shuttersville today. BR Guest's Japanese restaurant Kibo has closed after less than a year in business. The eatery took over the massive space that formerly housed Japonais and despite a menu from consulting chef Joel Robuchon it apparently couldn't fill the seats.
There's also word coming out of the East Village that Vandaag has shut down. This ambitious eatery opened around two years ago and was a precursor to all of the New Nordic eateries that have been taking over the town lately. Maybe it was a bit ahead of its time. Eater has word that most of the staff is moving to the owners' other restaurant, Woodland, which is located in Brooklyn.
