The Best Thing We Drank Last Night at Fountainhead

For the third consecutive year, Fountainhead celebrated Craft Beer Week with a local cask night. Select brews from local breweries were poured straight from the cask from 4 PM until all the beer was gone. Plus, one extra barrel of Thee Floyds' Zombie Dust was tapped at 6:66 PM and was available for all of an hour before the beer nerds drank it dry.



We stopped by to see what the fuss was about and were impressed, as we always are when local beer is involved, with the quality and complexity of our beverages. The best thing we drank last night was Two Brothers' Pillar of Salt. It is a white rye beer, and the bold hops are matched with a clean citrus flavor. 

Honorable mention goes to Revolution’s Coffee Eugene, a dark American porter with strong coffee flavor and smooth finish. This is more of a winter beer, but whetted our palate for their new production facility opening next Wednesday in Avondale.

Although local cask night was a one-time event, craft beer week continues until the May 27, and Fountainhead had a special food menu paired with craft beers.
