We like Jordan Kahn's Beverly Hills Red Medicine for a lot of reasons. There is a bustling bar scene with some innovative cocktails and the space is trendy while still being comfortable. Plenty of the dishes that come out of the kitchen will elicit a gasp of "what on earth is that?" from your table, but that's part of the fun. Dishes are deconstructed and topped with creative flourishes like "dirt" (don't worry, it tastes good). One of the reasons we really like this eatery is actually one of the simplest dishes.
The restaurant's chicken dumplings are one of the more familiar looking items that you'll see coming out of the kitchen, but in this case, served on a plate that has special grooves. The tender dumplings are made with lemongrass, caramelized sugar and pork fat. Roll the things up in the lettuce that's provided and dip it in the sauce and you'll see why we keep coming back, not to mention why the chef here made our 30 under 30 list.
