One of our favorite low-key brunch spots in the city is Balaboosta in Nolita, the offshoot of famed falafel slinger, Taim. The brunch menu here offers some of the most interesting options in town like a homemade shakshuka, a grilled merguez sandwich, coconut brioche stuffed French toast and a goat cheese stuffed lamburger. We had the latter on a recent weekend visit and have to say it's one of the best burgers we've tasted in months. The creamy goat cheese oozes out with every bite of the perfectly seasoned meat and is offset by the sweetness of the grilled onions on top. The burger is served with crispy patatas bravas (fried pieces of potato) that are drizzled with a garlicky aioli. Balaboosta is located at 214 Mulberry Street; 212-966-7366.
