Baby it's hot outside, so we say ditch the indoor sit-down restaurants and hit one of the myriad outdoor street food festivities taking place this weekend.

Friday Night: Destination: Hayes Valley and Fort Mason
Just in time for the warm weather, Off the Grid has unleashed a new dinner event at Hayes Valley's Proxy. Joining established Proxy anchors, Smitten Ice Cream, Ritual Coffee, Avedano's Meat Wagon and Biergarten will be mobile eats from regular newcomers Adam's Grub Trucks, Fins of the Hoof and Voodoo Van (honestly, who makes up these names?) (5-9 PM, live music from 7-8:30 PM; Linden and Octavia Streets).

Across town at Fort Mason, the street food and cocktail convergence known as OTG Fort Mason will hold its weekly chuck wagon. Expect the usual suspects of trucks, tents and carts, along with live music and drinks by Alembic and Magnolia (5-10 PM; Fort Mason).

Friday Night: Destination: Oakland
Of interest for our 510 neighbors, Oakland's Temescal's 'hood will be kicking off its seasonal Bites Off Broadway weekly outdoor event. Billed as a "mobile food and family fun" event, Bites off Broadways will run every Friday night from May 11 through October 12. Vendors include Doc's of the Bay, Tina TamaleNick's Breakfast Truck, Go Streatery, Annakoot Indian Street Food Truck and more. Lawn games, hula hooping face painting and other activities will ensue (5:30-8:30 PM; bring your own chair or blanket, held in front of Studio One Art Center on 45th Street, Oakland).

Saturday Morning: Destination: Downtown San Francisco
Down at the Ferry Building, CUESA will be hosting its 12th annual Spring Breakfast. The benefit event will offer the ultimate gourmet green grocer meal, featuring morning food prepared by the various market vendors: think pasture-raised scrambled eggs, fresh berries with yogurt granola, oatmeal pancakes, breakfast sausages from 4505 Meats and Fatted Calf, and a fresh squeezed juice and mimosa bar (seatings at 9:00-11 AM; regularly priced tickets are $45 for adults, $15 for children 3-13 years old and free for children under 3, but Zagat blog readers can snag get $10 off discounted tickets; portions of the proceeds will benefit the Schoolyard to Market program; 1 Ferry Building along The Embarcadero).

Sunday Afternoon: Destination: Larkspur
Yeah, we know Sunday is Mother's Day, but not everyone needs or wants to be stuck inside eating eggs Benedict and sipping glasses of complimentary cheap champagne. For a sunshine-y snack and a bit of live music in Marin, get your grub and groove on at the Marin Country Mart (the same spot that normally hosts the Saturday Farmers Market) for another Off the Grid event, featuring à la carte eats from its regular vendy line up (11 AM-3 PM, live music 12:30-2:30PM, South side of Marin Country Mart parallel to Sir Francis Drake Blvd.).
