Bar Henry Shutters, Vai Launches Lunch

Word coming out of the West Village is that subterranean vino den Bar Henry has shuttered and been replaced by a new music venue dubbed ZirZamin, according to Grub Street. The new venue seems to have kept a lot of the decor but will now feature live acts and a smaller menu of fare inspired by Austin. Get more info on the venue's facebook page.

Over on the Upper West Side, Vai has announced a new lunch with a special deal for midday diners. The Mediterranean joint with an Italian bent will now serve a three-course lunch menu for $29, which will be on offer Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 3 PM. Options include crudo like jumbo fluke ceviche and dishes like spaghettini with New Zealand cockles, lemon and chili-garlic. Naturally, a good noon-time meal would be no fun without a tipple, and the restaurant offers a list of seasonal cocktails and a wide selection of wines (212-362-4500).
