Taste of the Nation Draws Closer, GoogaMooga Announces Wine Plans

The best walk-around tasting event of the year is only a few weeks away. Taste of the Nation is set to take over the 82 Mercer event space on Monday, April 30. If you're not familiar with this shindig, it's a gathering of top chefs and mixologists that's designed to raise money for Share Our Strength. Restaurants ranging from ABC Kitchen to Gramercy Tavern to Tertulia will be in the house offering bites, which can be enjoyed with booze from haunts like PDT and Booker & Dax (we wonder if the latter will have their hot pokers in tow). Tickets are $225 for general admission and $425 if you want to go VIP. You can learn more and purchase your passes at NewYorkTaste.org.

Another festival generating buzz is the Great GoogaMooga, which is scheduled to setup shop in Prospect Park on May 19 and 20. The fest organizers just announced plans for the Wine Experience, where guests will be able to taste over 100 wines in a 120 foot tent - yep, that equals about one new wine for every step you take. The vino selection was curated partially by Paul Grieco, the sommelier from Hearth and Terroir, so you know you're in for some interesting labels. You can learn more about this fest and get info about tickets here.
