Sugo to Add Italian Flavor to Potomac

 By Olga Boikess
Sugo, the sleek, modern Italian pizza and small plates venue slated to open in Potomac, Maryland on May 1 will see the talents behind hip Cava and family-friendly Mama Lucia combining forces.

The airy, window-fronted space will feature a pizza bar where diners can watch the pie-makers spin dough and slice charcuterie and artisan cheeses. Colorful dark red and gold mosiacs, and light and dark wood paneling will decorate the walls. Table seating will accomodate large parties as well as two-somes. And, while the small plates menu hasn't been made public yet, we hear that meatballs - served over polenta, in casserole or as sliders - are a distinct possibility. Too boot, a full bar will craft specialty drinks with fresh fruit purées, along with wine and beer - so expect a see and be seen scene.
