Local produce - it’s popping up all around town. Early as it may seem, it’s no surprise, really, since birds are chirping and full-fledged leaves are on trees. At West Town Tavern in Noble Square, grilled, Mick Klug Farm asparagus appears in a lively salad of crisped country ham and fresh mozzarella, swathed in sherry-shallot vinaigrette ($9.50; 312-666-6175). And, apparently, the farm is making the rounds: Big Bowl in River North is prominently featuring its spears in a stir-fry with chicken and soy ($13.95). But for a change of pace, head to Noble Square’s The Butcher & Larder, where the answer is grilled ramp and romesco sausage ($10; 773-687-8280).
