SCRATCHBread Discontinuing Wholesale, Expanding Retail Hours

Carb addicts in the Bed-Stuy area have something to get excited about. The SCRATCHbread baking and retail shop is about to expand its hours and it will be open every day sometime in the next few weeks. The shop has been wholesaling its wares to restaurants around town, and word is that they are going to discontinue that operation to focus on the retail experience. They are working with Stumptown as a collaborator and will have a juice bar and "hearty, wholesome fare." There will be to-go offerings in the morning, lunch options that will be available out of the "NOSHERYwindow" along with fresh warm bread (natch) that will be available everyday.

The shop will keep up their popular "STOOPBrunch" on Sundays, which features a rotating menu of $5 to-go dishes served in paper cups. Plans are to bring in a jazz band for that to keep the hundreds of people who show up for the weekend meal entertained. All that stuff about carbs being bad for you - it's gotta be a myth, right. Get more info on SCRATCHbread here (1069 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn).
