Olives Reopening May 7, Kahve Coffee Coming to Hell's Kitchen

Back in November, we told you that Todd English's Olives was shutting down for a spell to spruce things up. Well, reps for the restaurant inform us that the renovation is almost complete. The eatery plans to reopen its doors on May 7. Although English's menu has been served in the hotel's lounge area, the reopening will return the full dining room to use. There will also be a new chef de cuisine at the establishment and presumably some new offerings on the menu.

A lot of coffee shops have been opening below 14th Street, but Hell's Kitchen is going to get some java love int he form of Kahve. A Buzz Agent sent us this photo of some signage at the tiny space (which is a trend as far as HK establishments go). The joint will apparently have paninis and baked goods along with salads. Beloved neighborhood java joint The Coffee Pot recently shuttered, so this will be a welcome addition to Ninth Avenue (774 Ninth Ave.).

  1. This looks to be so promising! As far as the eye can see there is only Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. This will be a welcomed addition!

  2. It is about time good coffee came to Hell's Kitchen! Even though Coffee Pot was a great local java joint, they hadn't paid attention to the store for what seemed like years. I popped my head into Kahve and it looks amazing and the owner is really passionate about coffee. I can't wait for this to open and bring good brew to HK!
