Kitano Hotel Adds Another Supper Club to The Mix

The musicians at the Kitano Hotel
Today we offered up a video featuring the Big Apple's nouveau supper clubs and how about that - shortly after we posted it we learned about an another supper club that's slated to open. Jazz at Kitano will be located in a historic townhouse adjacent to the hotel, while the space was once owned by the Rockefellers it will now play host to a performance venue and restaurant that will offer live acts nightly along with a menu of contemporary American cuisine spiked with Asian influences.

The hotel has already played host to live music in its mezzanine lounge but the new digs will be even classier with 30-foot ceilings and mahogany walls. In addition to dinner it will be open for breakfast and lunch. Expect acts ranging from old-time favorites like Fred Hirsch and Barry Harris to contemporary musicians like Gerald Clayton and Jeb Patton after the joint opens on May 2. The Murray Hill supper club is located on Park Avenue at East 38th, take a peek at the weekly performance schedule below the jump.

Monday: Jazz Jam will invite musicians and vocalists to join in all evening, backed by the three-piece house band.

Tuesday: Young Pianist Series will feature a new up-and-coming artist each month.

Wednesday and Thursday: Top jazz entertainers ($10 cover charge + $15 minimum)

Friday and Saturday: World-class marquee jazz acts ($25 cover charge + $15 minimum)

Sunday: Jazz Brunch
