Food Truck of the Week: The Fry Girl

Considering the deep-fried excess offered at our various state farms, The Fry Girl truck is practically dietetic. Practically - but not actually. Though a sign on the side of the truck says it's a "Mini Donut Mobile," there's much more deep-frying going on within. Like deep-fried mac 'n' cheese balls, pierogies (filled with potato, spinach, feta and lemon), mini chicken corn dogs, french fries, sweet potato fries and, err, apples. And, yes, there are mini donuts as well - flavored with cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, Vermont maple sugar or crumbled Oreos. In case you feel the need for The Fry Girl, but her truck isn't nearby, she also sells a "Donuts at Home" kit for $29.95, giving you everything you need to make your own - as long as you have a temperature-regulated frying pan or a kitchen deep-fryer.
