Best Thing We Ate Last Night: Gin Punch at Ginny's Supper Club

Punch at Ginny's: done and done
Punch bowls have been turning up at more and more parties these days - in addition to containing tasty cocktails, they help move things along since a large quantity of the drink is mixed before the guests arrive, so the bartender doesn't have to spend time mixing up each cocktail. Last night, we dropped by Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster to scope out Ginny's Supper Club - the swanky, stand-alone lounge in the basement of the space. Beefeater was in the house to showcase some new spring drinks, and we enjoyed the "Horse and Carriage Punch," a tart mix of Beefeater 24, Triple Sec, St. Germain, lemon juice, sugar and chamomile tea. It's a fitting libation for any spring party, but just beware - the only problem with the punch bowl is that it is far too easy to ladle a little too much into your glass.
