|Grilled sando from Deli Board|
You really can’t argue with a lunch place that touts “intimidating sandwiches and in-your-face snacks” (at least we can’t), and now desk jockeys like us who can’t get out for the belly-busting fare of the cult SoMA sandwich shoppe, The Deli Board, have a solution. Owner Adam Mesnick will be doling out a new delight - 1058 Hoagie, an evening pop-up sandwich take out and delivery service on certain evenings.
If you’re not familiar with The Deli Board and its poetically written menu, Patricia Unterman (when she was still reviewing for the Examiner) declared her transcendental Gold-N-Berg-N-Stein sandwich (a corned beef, pastrami, salami, cheese mash-up with slaw and Thousand Island dressing) “a higher food, some kind of manna.”
The deal with 1058 Hoagie is this: a couple of nights a week, sando-fans will be able to pick up a selection of 12-inch-long choice hoagies from its back door, and even better, the aforementioned hoagies can be delivered to parts of city (including AT&T, SoMa, Fidi and parts of the Mission to 17th St) via bike messenger ($20 minimum order).
The first set of scheduled nights for 1058 Hoagies are:
Apr 26 (Thursday) 5:30-9:30 PM
Apr 27 (Friday 5:30-9:30 PM
May 1 (Tuesday) 5:30-9:30 PM
May 2 (Wednesday) 5:30-9:30 PM
