We’ve been through this hundreds of times, food trends come and go. One minute Italian food is hot, the next we’re onto Scandinavian. Nine meatball places pop up, then it’s announced that Cambodian sandwiches are the next new thing. But hey, it’s fun to play the food trending game, and right now it’s all about Eastern European fare. A bunch of new restaurants have sprung up around the boroughs serving a bevy of dumplings, borscht and goulash. So we figure that you should at least have a primer for deciphering your pierogi from your pelmeni. Now throw on your fur hat and take a shot of vodka, or ten. Skol!
