Wise Sons have settled into their new brick-and-mortar storefront in the Mission. The midweek lunch and weekend brunch menus offer artisanal upgrades to the usual nosh, including chopped liver, matzo ball soup and a Reuben.
Of course, there’s also the house-smoked pastrami, which appears in a multitude of guises - on rye, in bread pudding, molded into a burger, even atop of cheese fries. Also on the menu: chocolate egg creams, natural cream sodas and fresh-baked babka and rugelach. Decor is simple, with bench seating, pistachio green wainscoting and a wall of vintage family photos. Note: it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays, though on the latter, the duo runs its stall at the Ferry Building. Check out the menu here.
