As the weather heats up in New York City, we’re in the mood for some spicy food - and we're talking the spiciest Mexican food we could find. We started a quest to blow our heads off the heat-tracking Scoville Scale with some south-of-the-border spice, challenging some of New York’s finest Mexican chefs to bring us their spiciest dishes. What we found surprising is that Mexican food as served to us city-slicking gringos in New York, is rarely served spicy hot, relying on an array of condiments to bring the heat. We ranked our scorching expedition in ascending order of heat and present you with our findings. Click through the below slideshow to see which dishes bring the most pain, and tell us about your spicy finds in the comments.
