Montreal Survey Results Are Live!

While talking about Montreal restaurants might induce a serious poutine craving for some, for us it brings to mind the results of our just-released 2012 Montreal Restaurants Survey! This year, it looks like Montreal residents dined out an average of 2.8 times per week - the same number as Vancouver but slightly below Toronto's average of 3.1 times per week. Meanwhile, 31% of diners said they were eating out more frequently than last year and 39% said they're spending more per meal. Talk about dropping loonies!

For this year's Survey, 1,814 diners reviewed 305 restaurants and there were a few surprises in our Top Food category. La Chronique snagged our top rating for Food with an impressive score of 28, while perennial favorite Toqué! slipped down to no. 10 on the list. In the Decor category, Le Restaurant XO in The Hôtel St-James came out on top with a score of 26, while downtown’s Sofitel Montréal houses the Survey’s winner for Service, Renoir. In the Most Popular category, Au Pied de Cochon is tops this year.
