  1. This is wonderfully helpful for my coming trip to New York. I've been looking to plan meals around some of the sites and activities and now have much of the work done for me!

    Would love to see something similar for other citis too. Maybe it would influence where I vacation.

  2. Having lived in New York, and then moved away five years ago, I often find myself wondering where to eat when visiting on business. All to often I've found that the restaurant I used to love is either no longer so hot, or worse completely gone. This will be very helpful in upcoming trips!

    Also, I completely agree with Blue Fin and Murray's Cheese - awesome!

    I concur with the previous comment; more cities, with similar information would be excellent!

    I usually avoid the Times Square area, but I may have to check out some of your suggestions on my next trip.

  6. There's some good advice here. I think the Grand Central food court has a pretty good selection and is not limited to the slices and beers you get at Penn. Oh, and the shake shack downtown doesn't usually have too long a wait, just watch out if you're there when the bankers come out for lunch. They frighten me.

  11. Here's a favorite of mine. Have an exquisite Jean-George brunch in the lobby level restaurant at The Mark on 77th & Madison before whiling away an afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum, just two blocks away.

  15. Hate to bring this up -- but, the WTC towers? Really, Zagat? Journalism 101. Check the stock photo before you use it. Clearly an illustration of how accurate and timely your content is.

  19. I'm not a tourist, but appreciate the tips on where to go when I'm far downtown. Haven't been to Delmonico's in ages and need to check out Wall and Water. Also, anyone have opinions on North End Grill?

  23. No faux fas displaying an icon. Journalism 501, you should credit corrections. You are anonymos which makes it tough to know who said what when and what your angle is. Quit hatin'. This is Zagat with a wonderful compass to navigate the many options in Times Square. Your comment about the journalism class level of the autor struck me as being snobish. Therefore, I e-slap you.   27. If you like REAL PIZZA and are willing to endure the atmosphere (none) you really need to try WALDYS on 6th Avenue (around 28 St)
    We NEVER miss a Waldys pizza when we go to NYC

  28. The Grand Central Oyster Bar is lovely to be in and have a glass of wine and some oysters, but the rest of the food there is horrible and expensive to boot. I suggest going for the vibe and bivalves then leaving for a better dinner.
