The Hawthorne in Kenmore Square presents the “B.U. School of Hospitality American Idol/Iron Chef Mashup Cocktail Competition” March 19. Guests can sip cocktails and nibble on treats while witnessing two different heats of three of the city's top mixologists as they compete in style, taste, creativity and skill. The event is designed to raise money to create an annual prize in craft cocktail education/beverage management at the Boston University School of Hospitality. Booze and good causes, two of our favorite things (6-7:30 PM; $25 per person; get tickets).
