    1. Thank you for saying that! Manhattan is NOT the center of the world- especially for us Brooklynites, and those in the other three boroughs.
Not very complete reporting, I'd say.

    2. It seems very lopsided. We have some awesome and high "Zagat" rated restaurants in Queens. Where are they?

  2. I can't believe you left Brooklyn out in the cold like that! Williamsburg? Park Slope? Greenpoint? What gives, Zagat?!?

  3. I agree! I only "logged on" to see what Zagat recommended in Park Slope!!!!

  4. Gari/Sushi is in the east 70s not west.

  5. I can't believe Zagat still hasn't changed the click-through slideshow format despite everyone complaining about it. So bummed out - wanted to read this article then saw it was a 30 shot click through so closed window instead.

  6. Eleven Madison park isn't a Danny Meyer restaurant anymore; Humm is now chef owner (with a partner who was general manager).

  7. Rao's, a place you can't get into -- especially if this is your neighborhood -- is a "neighborhood favorite"? It makes you wonder about this list.

  8. I agree with all of you. Zagats has to get with it. The Title is "NYC's Best eateries" but the first descriptive word is "Manhattan". Stop demeaning your readers. This article makes loittle sense.

  9. For those of you complaining about Brooklyn or Queens being excluded I understand your point, however, those are boroughs of New York City, they are not New York City. New York City is Manhattan.

And there most certainly is a Gari on the UWS - just as there is on the UES.

    1. You need to check your facts. Manhattan IS NOT New York City, it is a part of it. Perhaps you should check your history books before posting your opinions to the world! I support all of the other posts that remind people that NYC is comprised of 5 boroughs and should be treated accordingly!! Those that think Manhattan alone is NYC probably never stepped foot into the outer boroughs. Sounds like another elitist post void of anything substantive.

    2. Sounds like another non-native New Yorker that just moved in from the midwest, pretending to be a real new yorker. NYC is and has always been 5 boroughs.

  10. Manhattan is borough of New York City and therefore a part of New York City just as the other four boroughs are parts of New York City.

  11. Rao's was on this week's "overrated" list also, no?
