Um,
The Beatrice Inn is reopening in five weeks?? According to the
Wall Street Journal, it sure is. But this time around it won't be much like the infamous hispter-y dive of its last incarnation.
Vanity Fair editor-cum-restaurateur
Graydon Carter has taken the reins and tells the paper that the new restaurant will be "cozier" and that "it’s coming back, but it’s going to be a different kind of place than what it was last. Whatever it was – and I’m too old to have gone there, but my kids went – it won’t be that. There will be no Paul Sevigny." Hmm, sounds like a real hoot! In addition to that, you can expect "lots of wood and subway tiles" decor-wise, and for the chef to be announced very soon. Stay tuned for more on the new Beatrice Inn as the opening nears.
