BA Pop-up Comes to Shoreditch

Airline food didn't used to have the best reputation, but then Heston Blumenthal hooked up with British Airways and well, let's be honest, most of the food remained pretty average - if our recent flights in economy are anything to go by. That aside, you may remember last year that BA ran a competition with Heston to create a Best of British menu to be served on board during the Olympics. Well the winner's been picked and he's a chap called Simon Hulstone, who's the head chef at Elephant in Torquay. But Londoners don't have to head to the West Country or even up in the air to taste his fare, as it's being showcased at a pop-up in Shoreditch. In a restaurant designed to look like the inside of a BA plane (not Economy, you'll be pleased to hear...) you'll be served the First Class menu, including an amuse-bouche, tea, coffee and petit fours. It's cheaper than a plane ticket... Flight BA2012, as the pop-up has been named, is at 3-10 Shoreditch High St, East London, E1 6PG. It will be open on April 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17 only. Bookings must be made in advance at facebook.com/britishairways from March 19.
