Heartbreak Replacement Boukies Coming Soon, Dinosaur BBQ Brooklyn Next March

Some news on two openings that have been on our radar. First up, Boukies is set to take over the East Village space that housed Heartbreak - the new Greek eatery is on track for a March opening, which is a pretty fast turnaround (Heartbreak shuttered in October). A few more details have emerged about the reboot of the space. The menu will be by chef Diane Kochilas (Pylos), who will keep the focus on shareable meze, or traditional small plates. There will actually only be two main courses on the list at any given time, a whole grilled fish and grilled lamb chops. Heartbreak was criticized for it's cold and industrial decor, so this remodel will warm things up with large wooden tables and specks of blue to pay homage to the Greek flag. No word yet on a date certain, but we'll keep you posted.

Much farther off on the radar, but still equally exciting is the Brooklyn location of Dinosaur BBQ, which we have learned will open in March 2013. The build out hasn't started yet at the eatery that's on the border of Park Slope and Gowanus, but the new digs will feature many of the same menu items as the Harlem locale, a large private party room and a slew of draft lines that will be able to accommodate 18 to 24 local and craft brews. Because when you're eatin' ribs, you're gonna want a beer.
