Edi and the Wolf, where chef Edi Frauneder was hosting a tasting of three Radeberger beers (two of which are brand new to the U.S.) with menu pairings. Of the three beers – Radeberger Pilsner, Hövels Original and Schöfferhofer Weizen – the Pilsner is already on tap at Edi and the Wolf, but the Schöfferhofer and Hövels will be available this spring. After a few sips, we found ourselves agreeing with Frauneder, who said early on, “Everyone has to believe in something, and I believe in German beer!”Last night, we got our “oompah!” on at East Village Austrian restaurant
If beer isn’t your thing, some booze news also came out of the event - the restaurant has just received its liquor license! There is a cocktail menu in the works, though Frauneder couldn’t offer us too many details just yet. We’re hoping it includes a variation on our favorite drink last night – the “Radenade,” which is Radeberger Pilsner mixed with Bionade elderberry soda. How do you say “delicious” in German?
