Chowder Smackdown: Tasting 8 of New York’s Best Bowls

Chowder at Mary's Fish Camp
Last week, we highlighted a culinary rivalry when we asked about the best type of chowder. Seeing that the Giants kicked New England’s butt in the Super Bowl, we think that question was resolved. Even so, the debate inspired us to scour the city in search of the best takes on the dish. We slurped up an array of classic takes on the dish along with a handful of unique combos like Florida conch and smoked haddock. No matter which version you prefer, there is something in the bowl for everyone. Photos: Noah Fecks
