Michael Shrader (ex Nine, Epic) cooks culinary small plates (with seafood and vegetables outnumbering meats) at Urban Union, a rustic-chic Little Italy respite with a wood-burning oven in the open kitchen, a raw bar, craft cocktails and a few dozen by-the-glass selections (including six on tap); design highlights include exposed brick and distressed wood, a cozy bar, industrial light fixtures and a repurposed antique welding table where a ‘chef’s whim’ tasting menu is served communally.
