Photos: Mac 'n' Cheese Takedown at The Bell House

Last weekend, over 20 amateur chefs gathered at the Bell House in Gowanus, sterno trays in tow, to see who could cook up the best version of an American classic: macaroni and cheese. You're truly was in the house to judge (um, can someone pass the alka-seltzer), and Zagat had a booth on site to encourage voting in our New York City Shopping survey. The spoonfuls of mac handed out contained pretty much everything you could imagine, from bacon to bratwurst to truffle oil (that last one was the secret ingredient of the audience choice winner).

We snapped some cheesy photos at the event - check them out in the above slideshow. Congrats to Piers Moreton who got the audience win for his truffle mac and judges' choice award winner Andrew Gottlieb, whose four mushroom mac still has us licking our lips.Oh, and we wanted to give one more honerable mention shout-out for the best team name.
