There's no better time than winter for hearty, warming pasta-based dishes and while, yes, you could pick up a packet of the dried stuff from your local supermarket and slop some passata over the top, how much more satisfying is it to learn how to make your own duck ragu or trofie? To us, very, which is why the idea of Claudio Gottardo's pasta master classes at Cantina del Ponte appeals. Held monthly on a Saturday at his Southbank kitchen, the classes take around 90 minutes, are capped at 10 people and cost £28.50 per person. As well as learning how to make dough from scratch, use a pasta machine and hand cut pasta, you'll also be taught some of Claudio's favourite recipes and enjoy a tasting of two pasta dishes and a dessert for lunch. The first class starts this Saturday and focuses on the North of Italy. For further dates, more information, or to book, call 020-7403-5403 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
