Buen Ayre, Garufa Grill, Santa Maria Del Sur, etc.), it's not often we see the other aspect of life that Argentina is famous for - polo. But that's about to change as restaurant group Gaucho is hosting the world's smallest polo match in the heart of London next Tuesday, January 31, at 8 AM. Just off Piccadilly, Swallow Street, home to the group's flagship property, will be turfed and turned into a tiny polo pitch, with two five-a-side football goals. On horseback, you'll find Jamie Morrison representing the English, and Argentinian stallion Oscar Mancini fronting up to him. Admission is free.
It's all a ramp-up for the March arrival of The Gaucho International Polo at the O2 arena, bringing South American flair to the capital with fast-paced polo music from Latin American band Bajafondo, wine tastings from some of the country’s finest wine producers and after-parties, Buenos Aires-style.
