Micro Polo Heading to Swallow Street

While London isn't a bad place to tuck into Argentinean cuisine (Buen Ayre, Garufa Grill, Santa Maria Del Sur, etc.), it's not often we see the other aspect of life that Argentina is famous for - polo. But that's about to change as restaurant group Gaucho is hosting the world's smallest polo match in the heart of London next Tuesday, January 31, at 8 AM. Just off Piccadilly, Swallow Street, home to the group's flagship property, will be turfed and turned into a tiny polo pitch, with two five-a-side football goals. On horseback, you'll find Jamie Morrison representing the English, and Argentinian stallion Oscar Mancini fronting up to him. Admission is free.

It's all a ramp-up for the March arrival of The Gaucho International Polo at the O2 arena, bringing South American flair to the capital with fast-paced polo music from Latin American band Bajafondo, wine tastings from some of the country’s finest wine producers and after-parties, Buenos Aires-style.
